Relief Housekeeper/Cook - APPLICANTS SOUGHT

Relief Housekeeper/Cook   We are always looking for good cooks to join our team of relief housekeepers to cover staff holidays and sickness. This could be occasional days or weeks depending on your availability and work will be available on weekdays and at weekends. Hours are 9am-2pm and 4-7pm and the kitchen is large and well-stocked. The position involves making a substantial lunch and a light cooked tea, which you would serve to our seven residents and clear away afterwards and clean the kitchen and dining room. You would also eat with the residents and be an important part of what can be their main social activity in the day. You would be responsible for dealing with any queries that may arise during the day from the seven residents or callers to the house, with back-up from the Committee if necessary. Training will be given but please note this is a VERY occasional position and we cannot guarantee hours.  Our preference is for people able to do the whole day's shift but that we would consider people who are only able to do lunch.   Ideally you will have at least Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 and experience cooking for large groups including vegetarians.  However, this is not essential, and we would be able to provide training once you are regularly working at the house. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS check prior to commencing employment.   This is a paid position (£13.04 per hour) with the daily rate for both shifts being £104.32. If you would like any more information or would like to discuss the role before applying, please contact abbeyfielddulwich@gmail.com. In order to apply please fill in the attached application form and email to abbeyfielddulwich@gmail.com
